Honor 5C colorsThe Honor 5C is a device that looks to improve on its forerunner’s experience. When Huawei initially launched the Honor 5X earlier this year, we were impressed with how much tech the company was able to squeeze into such an affordable device. However, the software was fairly buggy and did not offer a very good experience in general. The Honor 5C looks like it’s supporting some improved UI, and it’s ditched the fingerprint scanner to get the price even lower. Since pricing is a selling point with these entry-level devices, a lot of budget-conscious users might be a fan of this trade-off.

The Huawei Honor 5C will be hitting European locations later this week. It rocks a 5.2 inch full HD IPS display and is powered by a Huawei Hisilicon Kirin 650 processor. 2GB of RAM keep the lights on, and the 3,000mAh battery packs enough punch to keep these modest specs kicking all day long. The main camera seems decent at 13MP, and the selfie-snapper is also no slouch at 8MP. You’ll only have 16GB of internal storage, but the microSD slots means you can expand this up to 128GB. Like we indicated earlier, this device does not come with a fingerprint scanner even though the Chinese version of the Honor 5C does. The operating system is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Clearly this isn’t a device that’s going to put your jaw on the floor if you’re used to having one of today’s flagships as your main driver, but for an entry level device, you appear to be getting a lot of bang for your buck. No word yet on whether this device will be hitting US soil.
