Although it’s true that many Twitter users get their tweet-fix from third-party apps, the social network is working to improve their official app to make it more of a natural choice for tenacious tweetsters. Today Twitter announced that they have brought some changes to the app that make it much more intuitive to use on the Android operating system.
Right off the bat, the developers have added a tab bar up at the top of the screen. Swiping the screen lets you move swiftly between these tabs, allowing you to access your home feed, notifications, and messages in just a few flicks. Swiping all the way to the left slides in a settings shade that’s more in alignment to the kind of UI that we’re seeing with modern Android apps. From here you can check and update your profile, view highlights, customize your lists, navigate the Connect tab, and change app settings with ease.

Finally, we’re also getting a delightful little action button that always floats on the bottom right corner of the screen, allowing you to compose a tweet on the fly. By no means is this update a complete overhaul, but it does make the app much cleaner and easier to use. The update is rolling out to all Twitter users today, so update to the latest version to see these changes.
