samsung galaxy note 5 5 tips and tricks aa (25 of 30)SamMobile is reporting that S Note users can look forward to getting a slew of new features, and non-Note owners might even be able to get Screen Off Memo on their smartphones. No word as to whether these new features will be arriving part and parcel with the Galaxy Note 6 or if they’ll be coming down the pipe separately.

First among these updates is a modification to Screen Off Memo, a service that lets users quickly scribble notes on their device without even unlocking it. The update will bring the capability to scroll on this digital pad, allowing you to take much longer notes.

Notes can also be locked away with new security features. You can use pattern, PIN, or password, but S Note will also be fingerprint-ready, allowing you to securely hop in and out of your notes with just a touch of a fingertip. Some users might be scratching their heads at this, as Galaxy Note devices already have a Private mode that can be used to keep your notes locked away. The difference is that now these security features are housed directly inside the app.

Some other bits and bobs are also on the way including the ability to import notes from different apps and a handy recycle bin to put an extra step between potentially valuable notes and the oblivion of deletion. It’s possible that Screen Off Memo might be coming to devices lacking a stylus, but SamMobile acknowledge that this is pure speculation. Indeed, none of these upcoming features have been confirmed by Samsung, so we’re having to take SamMobile’s word for it.
