With multimedia being the key to success these days, a number of celebrity, TV show, music, and movie personalities have taken to the mobile platform to release games of their own. These celebrity games can vary greatly in style and game play which makes them fun to look at, if nothing else. Adventures of Poco Eco
[Price: Free / $2.99]
Adventures of Poco Eco is a puzzle-adventure game where you help Poco Eco find the lost sounds of his tribe. It comes with 12 levels, plenty of mini-puzzles to complete, and the soundtrack is actually the Lost Sounds LP from Iamyank, a musician from Hungary. The game is pretty good overall with decent graphics, easy controls, and a fun little story line. Of course, the music is pretty good too. Unlike most celebrity games, this one doesn’t try to bleed you dry with in-app purchases.

Disney Crossy Road
[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Why wouldn’t we include a game that features almost every Disney protagonist ever? Disney Crossy Road is a Disney-made off-shoot of Crossy Road, a game where you must cross roads, streams, and other obstacles without getting hit by other obstacles. In the Disney variant, you can unlock over 100 Disney characters and most of them have their own unique soundtrack and level theming. It’s kid friendly, simple to play, free to download, and a good way to waste a few minutes.

Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff
[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff is a builder-simulation game where you must rebuild Quahog after another classic fight with the giant chicken. Like The Simpsons: Tapped Out, it has a heavy number of cameo appearances from characters in the series and the player will have access to content you can’t see in the show. The game does keep it tongue-in-cheek and you get the feeling the developers (and writers) steered into the skid when it comes to the hatred of freemium games. Nevertheless, it’s funny and fun so why not?

Futurama: Game of Drones
[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
If you don’t think Bender Bending Rodriquez is a celebrity, then we can’t be friends anymore. In Futurama: Game of Drones, you’ll be faced with a match-three style puzzle game, except you have to match four objects instead of three. You’ll get to play through various puzzles using “powers” from the crew and the game includes a story line full of the classic Futurama quirk and humor. It’s free to download like most celebrity games, but fans of the show should still enjoy it.

Hail to the King: Deathbat
[Price: $4.99 with in-app purchases]
Hail to the King: Deathbat is a hack-and-slash dungeon crawler that is built around the music of Avenged Sevenfold. It also features the band in the game as playable characters. It boasts 10 hours of game play, a Nightmare Mode which is essentially just super hard mode, and an original score. The graphics are decent and the whole game is kind of a throwback to the Gauntlet series of games. It was probably not the best idea to include in-app purchases with a paid game, but we managed to get through it without spending additional money. It’s one of the bigger celebrity games available.

Pocket Mortys
[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Pocket Mortys features the characters from the cult hit TV show Rick and Morty. You’ll control Rick as you collect a team of Mortys so that you can battle other Ricks. It’s definitely a parody of Pokemon and the two titles play about the same way. There are 70 different Mortys to collect and a full story to play through that is rife with Rick and Morty’s unique, dark humor. It’s not a terribly long game, which is sad, but it’s still good for several hours of fun.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out
[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
The Simpsons: Tapped Out is one of the first really big and popular celebrity games to be based off of a TV show. This one is a builder-simulation game where you must construct a Springfield after the original gets blown up. It features tons of references to the show and you can even interact in ways consistent with the series (making Apu work long shifts, for instance). It’s fun and there’s enough content here to keep you playing for a good long time.

Sniper X with Jason Statham
[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Sniper X with Jason Statham is an action-adventure game featuring, you guessed it, Jason Statham. The premise of the game is that you’ll be teaming up with Statham on various sniping missions where you’ll be taking out high-value targets in the name of justice. It features hundreds of missions, upgrades to your weapon to make it more powerful, and even some special abilities like the capacity to slow down time to get an accurate shot. It seems to have trouble running on older and lower end devices, but it’s a decent experience overall.

Telltale Games collection
[Price: Varies with in-app purchases]
Telltale Games have been the darlings of pop culture gaming for a couple of years now. They have a few titles, including a series based on The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. All of the games have unique storylines outside of the shows that also ties in with what’s going on. They’re voiced by the same actors from the show which is a nice touch. They’re considered “choose your own adventure” games with a point-and-click style of game play. They’re a lot of fun even if they are a bit expensive. Each game comes with five episodes and you’ll have to purchase them as in-app purchases. Click the button below to check out their entire collection!

WWE Immortals
[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
WWE Immortals is a free-to-play game that features a ton of WWE wrestlers. You’ll get to play as your favorites, whether they’re classics or modern superstars including Triple H, John Cena, The Undertacker, The Rock, Stone Cold, and more. It’s a three-on-three combat style so there’s no actual wrestling which was initially disappointing, but it includes online multiplayer, level up mechanics, and more. It could have been a much better game, but it’s not terrible if you want something to waste a few minutes.
