HTC-Desire-830 (1)

While the tech world is enamored with the HTC 10 and its pending release date, it’s important to remember that HTC has more than just the flagship to offer interested consumers. Thanks to a new leak covered by Nowhereelse.fr, there is a good chance one of the Taiwanese OEM’s pending products has just been outed.

The phone in question is referred to as the HTC Desire 830 and looks like a mash-up between the HTC One X9 and the HTC Desire 825. It’s quite colorful and presumably made of plastic.

Specs according to pictures of the device shown with CPU-Z results include a 5.5 inch Full HD display, a 1.3GHz Octa Core MediaTek MT6753 SoC, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of on-board storage. The phone is seemingly devoid of a fingerprint sensor, and has brought the HTC logo back to its typical place front and center below the display. It’s difficult to say if the port on the bottom device is USB Type-C or standard mini-USB.

While HTC itself has yet to make an official announcement for this product, given that the phone pictures looks like a clearly finished product, it would’t be surprising if it’s made public knowledge soon. As for the cost, HTC will need to ensure that the price accurately reflects the specs and intended market it will be sold in, less potential customers possibly pass on it.

Still, given that HTC announced the Desire 825 just two months ago at MWC, it seems a bit quick for a product refresh to appear. What do you think? Is this a solid smartphone or does HTC need to go back to the proverbial drawing board? Leave your comments below and be sure to let everyone else know!
