The LG G5 and its “Friends” are hitting the masses, and already making quite a splash in South Korea. They have adopted a whole new design language and modular body that really take the new gadget to a whole new level. It features a sturdy aluminum body that will likely make it more solid and comfortable to hold, but remember metal tends to be prone to scratches. And though it does have a Gorilla Glass screen, a hard enough drop can still crack it.

Want to keep your brand new LG G5 safe from scratches, scuffs and other damage? Your best bet is to grab a good case; but there are so many options in the market! We understand it can be hard to choose the right one, so we have made a list of our very favorite ones to make your purchase a little easier. Let’s go through them.
Ringke Fusion case
The LG G5 is a very good looking handset, and we know many of you will want to show it off. But you still want to keep it protected, so a case like the Ringke Fusion is good to consider.
This case is thin and transparent, so everyone will be able to see that beautiful metallic body. Meanwhile, the thicker bumper will protect the phone from drops. But don’t go too crazy! This is nowhere close to being a rugged case, and it will probably withstand much less than a more rugged case. On the plus side, the price is only $11.99. Pretty good deal.
Speck Candyshell case
Ringke makes great cases, but if you want brand recognition Speck is among the most popular case makers around. This may be a basic case with a $39.95 price point, but the manufacturer stands by it.
They tout a “military-grade” construction that meets MIL-STD-810G standards, so it should be able to handle some roughness pretty well. It is only 0.16 inches, but carries a dual-layered body that is said to do wonders. The raised bezels should also keep the screen protected when in flat surfaces.
Cruzerlite Bugdroid Circuit case
Are you a hard-core Android fan? We are too, and sometimes we all want to show off our love for this awesome operating system. What better way than a good case with the Android robot engraved right into it?
The Cruzerlite Bugdroid Circuit case will offer added protection, but it will also look good, and stay slim while doing so. You shouldn’t expect it to handle every drop, but it will probably keep scratches and dents away in most cases.

Caseology Wavelength Series case
Caseology is not too well known of a brand, but they are growing and do make some good accessories. This is one of them. It happens to look very unique. Its dual layer TPU and polycarbonate construction will provide good protection while giving you a good grip on the phone. We all know how slippery that LG G5 aluminum back can get!
Furthermore, it costs only $14.99, making it one of the more affordable cases in this list.

Otterbox is well known for offering among the most protective cases around. But they are also famous for making big, bulky cases that, quite honestly, look pretty ugly. The Commuter series finds a balance between aesthetics, thinness and ruggedness. It is not too thick and looks sleek, yet still offers plenty of protection for your LG G5.
The Commuter case comes with a dual-layer body that does very well absorbing shock. In addition, its port cover keeps the dust and lint away. To make matters even better, it includes a screen protector. It’s not too cheap at $34.99, but this is an Otterbox. It’s hard to beat this brand.
Otterbox Symmetry case

Is the Commuter case still too thick? Maybe you want something sleeker, yet still want to stick with a brand name like Otterbox. If this is the case, you should go with the Symmetry series.
This LG G5 case is much sleeker, yet still offers a two-layer body for efficient shock absorption. The only difference is that the materials are stuck together and it is made as a one-piece unit, for easier installation. This LG G5 Otterbox Symmetry case goes for $39.95.
Spigen Tough Armor case
Otterbox is not the only one around with sturdy cases. Spigen’s Tough Armor case can take a beating. It also features a dual-layer construction that should keep the phone pretty safe.
In addition, there is a nice little feature I know many of you will appreciate. This case comes with a built-in kickstand for enjoying videos, movies and other media.
It goes for $26.99, which we would say is a fair price for what you are getting. Not to mention, it’s cheaper than both Otterbox options.
Spigen Rugged Armor case
The Spigen Rugged Armor case stays slim while offering a good deal of protection. Its Air Cushion TM Technology helps with shock absorption. It also happens to tout an industrial design, made of TPU and carbon fiber accent.
This one goes for $27.02, which is not the cheapest, but the brand promises quality. And our previous tests have shown Spigen’s cases tend to be pretty good.
VRS Design Layered Dandy case
Some of you like slim cases, some others would rather get something sturdy, but others prefer their protection to have some form of functionality. This VRS Design Layered Dandy case doubles as a wallet and looks rather snazzy. It has a TPU casing surrounding the phone and keeping it in place. On the outside you will find a PU leather material surrounding the whole phone.
The folio case also has slots for cards, IDs and money. No need to carry your wallet! And the $21.99 price point shouldn’t push many buyers away.

i-Blason Wallet case
The i-Blason Wallet case is a little cheaper and offers a similar design and construction to the VRS Design option listed above. It is made of vegan leather and held firmly with a plastic casing. Aside from carrying money and cards, the i-Blason Wallet case also doubles as a kickstand with just a few folds.
The price is $14.99 for this one.
