This company’s graphics designer retires after 30 years, and on the new graphics/web designer’s first day on the job, he’s faced with thousands of old Mac graphics files, according to a pilot fish on the scene.
“I casually mention to him that he can trash any old files that he doesn’t need,” fish says. “Then I go back to my normal IT tasks.
“Being a graphics major in college apparently doesn’t come with any real experience in cleaning up files. During the cleaning process he sees many files with a date stamp of 1999, so he dutifully puts whole directories into the trash bin. This includes almost all of the operating system files and anything else that has not been recently updated.
