Back at the start of CES 2016, OPPO announced its new F series of smartphones designed for the photography enthusiast. The first handset in the series, the OPPO F1, is now already available to pre-order in Vietnam, before it heads out to other regions. The phone had been anticipated to make its début in India on January 28th.

The OPPO F1 is an upper tier mid-range smartphone, powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor and 3GB of RAM. The display comes in at 5-inches with a 720p HD resolution and 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Other internal hardware includes a dual-SIM tray, 16GB of internal storage with 128GB microSD card support, and a 2,500mAh battery. The whole package is powered by OPPO’s Android 5.1 Lollipop based ColorOS 2.1.
Camera features are a big part of the OPPO F1 and any future products in the series. The handset packs a 13 megapixel rear snapper with f/2.2 aperture and single LED flash, which is accompanied by an 8 megapixel front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. OPPO has also packed in a selection of software features and filters to tweak your pictures to your liking, as part of its Beautify 3.0 package.
The pre-order price comes to VND 6,490,000, which works out to roughly $290 or Rs. 19,300. The OPPO F1 will begin shipping out to customers on January 21st and we’ll be keeping our eye out for availability in other regions as well.
