Although it may seem as though things have been quiet on the QNX side of things for BlackBerry, it’s really just the opposite. Their latest news comes by way of the announcement that QNX and AdasWorks, who builds artificial intelligence-based software for automated driving, have forged a technology partnership focused on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles.

Although it may seem as though things have been quiet on the QNX side of things for BlackBerry, it’s really just the opposite. The BlackBerry subsidiary has been tremendously busy hosting webinars, attending conventions and conferences and not so quietly working innovations such as QNX OS for Safety and gearing up for CES 2016 where they will fully unveil their all-new Toyota Highlander concept vehicle.

Their latest news comes by way of the announcement that QNX and AdasWorks, who builds artificial intelligence-based software for automated driving, have forged a technology partnership focused on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles. Together, the companies will be porting several AdasWorks functions, including lane detection, moving-object detection, and object classification, to QNX OS platforms. Ultimately, creating a software foundation for intelligent, multi-camera systems that enable automated driving by providing a 360-degree view of the area around the vehicle.
