Amazon has officially announced its new connected speaker product, the Amazon Echo Show. As had been previously tipped, the device forgoes the cylindrical form factor of its predecessor and instead is an intercom-like gadget featuring a touchscreen display.
The display itself comes in at seven inches and features a camera above it and a speaker underneath. It can show YouTube videos, security cameras, shopping lists, photos, and more. The Echo Show integrates with Amazon Music to provide on-screen lyrics, but can also stream audio from others services like of Pandora, Spotify, TuneIn, and iHeartRadio.
Powered by Amazon’s Alexa digital assistant, the Echo Show will be able to make calls between other Alexa-powered devices (including smartphones using the Alexa app). Take a look at it in the video below.

The Echo Show is available for pre-order from today for $229.99 in the US and will be shipped on June 28. It can be picked up in two colors, black or white, and can also be picked up in a two-pack to save 100 bucks. In addition, it will go on sale for £220 in the UK and €240 in Germany.
This story is breaking and more information will be added soon.
