Amazon.com is under fire for removing encryption from Kindle Fire tablets. These and other devices running the Android-derived Fire OS 5, can no longer encrypt the data stored on them.
Cue: Obvious comparisons with Apple. When prodded, Amazon PR claimed users didn’t care for the feature. Perhaps that had something to do with the pathetic hardware inside these cheap things.
