Harry D. Moseley, CIO and managing director at KPMG, is very clear on the best way to shake up an organization and offer innovative solutions: through its people.

“One of the major shifts today is the flattening of organizations irrespective of whether [they’re] in IT or sales or leadership,” Moseley says. “I’m a huge believer in that. To have senior levels interact with all the levels of an organization can make an enormous difference in that organization.”

KPMG is the U.S. arm of KPMG International, a global audit, tax and advisory firm. Moseley, 60, who works out of the company’s Montvale, N.J., office, oversees 750 IT staffers, an increase of 29% over the previous year. He sees a recipe for success in attracting workers from a variety of backgrounds who can learn from one another.
