Firefox OS is dead, bereft of life, it rests in peace—or at least that’s how the project’s “Global Marketing Director” would prefer it: John Bernard (pictured) and his sidekick George Roter announce their “substantial” decision to give up on competing against iOS and Android.

Still, at least they were “clear and direct,” as they put it. The announcement wasn’t vieled in too much of the usual, spinny, corporate PR-speke.
